Company of Trouble is a quest in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord. In it, you have a bunch of unruly mercenaries in your army, stealing supplies and causing trouble. You have to get rid of them as quickly as possible, or else they’ll bleed you dry. The trouble is, it’s not at all obvious how you’re supposed to do this, and there are some bugs (or at least weird behaviours) that make it more difficult than it should be. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to complete Company of Trouble quest in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord.Mount And Blade 2 Mercenary

You can’t disband them, so the intended way to solve this problem is to sell them off to a lord. Easy-peasy, you even make some money in the process, right? Wrong. A lot of people have been reporting being unable to find lords in any of the castles in the vicinity after taking the quest. If you really want to profit off of these unruly men, you should look for a roaming party led by a noble. Even then, you’ll have to pass conversation skill checks which aren’t at all easy.

If you have an older save, reloading it might be your best bet. If that’s not an option, you can go into battle and make your other troops stay back while letting the mercenaries get slaughtered. It’s ruthless, but it’s a solution. You won’t get the denars you would if you’d have sold them, but at least you’ll plug the leak. What also works is losing a battle and ending up as a prisoner – just make sure you leave the actually useful troops elsewhere. Of course, this is not ideal – selling them of or sending them to their deaths are the most positive outcomes.
